Ikea Marcus work chair: model description

How is IKEA furniture different from other furniture?

All sets of furniture from IKEA, including the kitchen, are much cheaper because they are delivered to your home in parts, completely disassembled.

This has both advantages and disadvantages. The main disadvantage is that your order will be a mass of all kinds of packages and boxes, since kitchen furniture sets will be delivered directly from the warehouse in a completely disassembled state. But you shouldn’t be afraid of this pile of individual details. You just need to follow all the steps exactly according to the instructions and these parts will quickly turn into a beautiful IKEA kitchen. It's like assembling some kind of structure from a children's Lego set.

What will you need to assemble an IKEA kitchen?

For assembly you need to have the following tools on hand:

  • sticky tape or tape;
  • screwdriver No. 4 Phillips;
  • a pair of plastic buckets.

Step-by-step instructions for assembling IKEA furniture

First step

To make assembling an IKEA kitchen with your own hands easy, number all the boxes. Then draw a rough plan of your kitchen for yourself. In some cases, this sketch plan may be included in the packages, so please check them.

Be that as it may, before starting assembly, you should draw a diagram on a piece of paper, thanks to which you will clearly understand where exactly this or that cabinet will be installed. This is done very easily, because as you unpack individual parts, more and more similar pieces of kitchen furniture will appear near you.

Second step

At this stage, you will need to properly organize your workplace. It is extremely important that it is sufficiently comfortable and spacious. It is not necessary to assemble kitchen furniture in the kitchen. If you don’t have enough space in your kitchen, you can assemble kitchen furniture in a nearby room or in a spacious hall.

You need to place 3-4 buckets in the room in which you will collect parts. One will contain tools, as well as small parts that will accumulate as you assemble the IKEA kitchen with your own hands. The other bucket will contain the small parts of the section you are assembling.

A standard set of IKEA kitchen furniture, as a rule, consists of a set of spare parts necessary for manual assembly, as well as several tools.

Third step

Now let's proceed directly to the selection of sections. To save valuable time, I advise you to pre-select parts for each individual section. The process of assembling furniture will greatly speed up if you, spending a minimum of time, put all the parts in several separate piles in advance.

Fourth step

Remove shelves, drawers, and doors from cabinets. Place these pieces neatly together. Only when all the cabinets are in place can you install them.

Fifth step

Now we proceed to such an extremely important stage as assembling the cabinets. Before assembly, thoroughly study the assembly instructions included in the package. Determine exactly the type of cabinet and all dimensions by checking the instructions. According to the assembly manual, install all locks, screws, dowels and securely fasten them using a Phillips screwdriver. Only after complete assembly of all furniture sections specified in the instructions can you proceed to the sixth step.

Sixth step

Apply all pieces of adhesive tape that are marked accordingly to the visible parts of each of the assembled sections. They cannot be removed until all the furniture is completely installed.

Seventh step

Install all cabinets strictly according to the included assembly instructions. At the same time, always look at the labels you previously pasted so as not to accidentally confuse something and install all the sections exactly where they need to be.

Eighth step

At this final stage, you will need to install the shelves, hang the doors evenly, carefully, and insert all the drawers into place. After doing all this, you will need to once again carefully check the correct assembly of the kitchen furniture. All parts of the kitchen set must be assembled exactly as described in the assembly instructions included in the package and in full accordance with the sketch plan you created.

Be extremely careful during assembly! When using the most popular #2 screwdriver in use, you can cause serious damage to the fine threads located on the screw heads.

The best screwdriver option for assembly is screwdriver No. 4. It's more effective than the screwdrivers that often come with IKEA kitchen sets. In addition, this screwdriver is very convenient to use. If a serious obstacle occurs during assembly, check whether you have followed all the above steps correctly. It is quite possible that, despite all your efforts, you made a mistake when performing some stage and it needs to be corrected.

If during assembly you have any problems or something is unclear to you, you can contact the IKEA service center. There they will tell you how to solve your problem.

If you are patient, careful and follow the included instructions exactly, you will be able to assemble your IKEA kitchen furniture in the shortest possible time. We wish you good luck!

If you don’t have time to assemble an IKEA kitchen, or you don’t dare take this step, our company will be happy to help you with this difficult task!

Before the purchase

What you need to buy at IKEA

In addition to the frames, you'll need to buy shelves, drawers, and hinges. Our fronts have pre-drilled mounting holes for the hinges, so all you need to install the fronts is a screwdriver or screwdriver.

We also recommend immediately purchasing closet accessories from IKEA: clothes rails, hangers, storage boxes and other useful little things.

4KEA wardrobe doors differ in format from IKEA doors

Our fronts for PAX frames are 4 cm longer than those from IKEA: they are located 2 cm from the floor, while IKEA fronts are 6 cm. The reason is simple: when the fronts cover most of the base of the frame, the cabinet looks more aesthetically pleasing.

Hinges for our wardrobe fronts

Hinges for wardrobes of the PAX series are bought at IKEA: KOMPLEMENT, 4 pcs. for each facade for frames 236 cm; and 3 pcs. for each facade for frames 201 cm.

The format of our wardrobe fronts

All our fronts have the same width - 50 cm. They are suitable for PAX frames with a height of 201 and 236 cm.

The format of our wardrobe sides

PAX frames come in two different depths (35 and 58 cm) and two different heights (201 and 236 cm). We produce side panels for all cabinet formats.

We do not recommend installing legs on your wardrobe

It is possible to put the cabinet on legs, but only if you really want to and you are sure that you will be able to install additional strong and stable supports under the frame. This will also make it difficult to access clothes stored at the top of the wardrobe if you do decide to touch the legs. But this is not at all what we recommend.

IKEA sliding wardrobes

Sliding wardrobes are a more complex wardrobe model, but have long been known and popular among IKEA store customers.

It is distinguished by rich decor, most often by the presence of a mirror insert on the facade. Sliding wardrobes have an extensive collection of built-in pull-out systems, storage compartments, shelves and racks.

Convenient sliding doors are mounted on a special roller on the lower and upper strips of the door frame. Disadvantages include the difficulty of installing the cabinet and moving rollers, as well as the difficulty of replacing worn parts.

Product characteristics

The IKEA Pax wardrobe has a height of 236.4 cm, respectively, the ceiling must be at a height of at least 245 cm. At the same time, for assembly in a horizontal position, a ceiling height of 244 cm is sufficient, and in a vertical position - 242 cm, but without taking into account errors such as unevenness the floor and the ceiling itself.

Wardrobe Pax IKEA

The depth is 66 cm, which is relatively small, thanks to which the cabinet can be placed in a relatively narrow corridor. The width reaches one and a half meters.

The doors of the Pax cabinet are Auli, which allows you to place other furniture opposite it without maintaining a distance equal to the width of the door.

Cabinet options

Pax, corner and coupe, requires special mounting to the wall. Fastening materials are selected independently, taking into account the wall material. The instructions for the Pax cabinet from IKEA provide for this point.

Examples in the interior

Ikea chairs look organic in any interior, especially Scandinavian. It is characterized by a light background and the most comfortable functional furniture, which 100% includes folding chairs. If you choose a discreet shade of the cover, then the furniture becomes almost invisible to others, while bright fabric, on the contrary, makes the chair stand out from the “gray mass” or the rest of the room’s decoration and makes it an accent.

The transformable chair looks good in a children's room and serves as its decoration if you choose a cheerful color - turquoise, black and white geometric print or light yellow.

Additional replaceable covers make it easy to update the sofa and change the interior.

The compact chair-bed easily turns into a comfortable single bed.

Three mattress options and a wide range of covers allow you to create the optimal combination.

The classic look of a folding chair bed. Unlike the other two models, there are armrests. The mechanical part of the structure is hidden. Due to the type of transformation, there are two transverse folds on the berth. By default, the kit comes with a medium-hard mattress.
Ikea PSArmchair: 88хх110х88 cm
The series is made in high-tech design. The transformation mechanism uses the accordion principle: the front part moves forward, pulling the back behind it. A tangible plus is an almost flat sleeping area with the exception of a fold in its lower part. This arrangement does not affect the quality of sleep and the orthopedic properties of the mattress.
LyckseleArmchair: 80x100x87 cm
Lycksele's design adheres to the Art Nouveau style, with its inherent minimalism. The model does not have wheels or side rails. It has an orthopedic mattress, making it suitable for daily use. Thanks to the latex filling, the sleeping place completely follows the contours of the body, which promotes proper rest.

Review of all models from the catalog

There are not many similar chairs in Ikea's assortment. But thanks to their neutral design, they will suit almost any interior. There are only three models in the “Vattviken”, “Vallentuna”, “Lycksele” series. The latter option is available in three variations, differing only in the characteristics of the mattress.

We’ll start the review with the most inexpensive ones and continue in ascending order of price.

Pay attention to the notes on each model, highlighted in color: these are the features that distinguish a particular chair from others.

Lycksele Lövos

The most budget option of all presented in the catalog.

It has a clamshell-type mechanism called an “accordion”.

Suitable for everyday sleep.

Watch how to unfold the Lycksele chair in the video:

The price starts from 8,999 rubles.

The cost of Lycksele models depends on the choice of cover design.

Identical in appearance and mechanism to the Murbo and Hovet models, it is inferior only in mattress density - 28 kg/cub.m. This is not critical, considering that in most similar models of chair-beds from other manufacturers on the market, this parameter starts from 25 kg/cub.m.

The density of polyurethane foam in a mattress indicates its rigidity and elasticity and, as a result, comfort and wear resistance.

Sold with a removable cover that can be machine washed at 40 0 .

Lycksele Murbo

A folding chair, which in appearance and layout mechanism does not differ from the previous one. In fact, the quality characteristics of the mattress differ only in the density of the polyurethane foam in its composition - 35 kg/cub.m. It will be more comfortable to sleep without it. The rest is the same steel frame with epoxy coating and the same removable covers.

Price – from 9,999 rub.

Lycksele Hovet

A more expensive option with a steel frame is in the Lycksele Hovet series. How does it differ from its analogues “Murbo” and “Levos”? In appearance and mechanism they are the same. Despite the similarity in the frame, layout mechanism and identical covers, the difference between the models lies in the quality of the mattress. The Khovet model has an additional latex coating, which extends its service life and makes it more wear-resistant. The “Hovet” model mattress also has a higher density of polyurethane foam - 35 kg/cub.m. in contrast to “Levos”, for example, where this parameter is only 28 kg/cub.m.

Characteristics and instructions for assembling the Pax IKEA wardrobe

The Pax cabinet from IKEA is one of the most convenient cabinets to place in a small room or hallway, as it does not require much space. Pax is able to accommodate many different things, from shoes to clothes that need a hanger. At the same time, it is not capable of spoiling the interior, since it is made in classic colors that match virtually any color scheme.

Wardrobe Pax Ikea

However, assembling Pax without instructions is not so easy, and there are a lot of cases when instructions are missing. For example, a cabinet was purchased through Avito, but the previous owner lost the instructions somewhere and can only explain the cabinet’s structure in words. Unfortunately, under such conditions, it is no longer possible to call an installer from an IKEA company store, and you will have to rely only on your own strength.
