The filler has many features and not all of them are pleasant:

Polyurethane foam or expanded polystyrene are hygroscopic. This filler does not like increased dampness in rooms and is afraid of moisture spilled on the chair. Of course, it is possible to dry it, but this is associated with a number of difficulties;
The filler accumulates static electricity. When scattered, it sticks to all objects and is very difficult to remove;
In operation it settles. You will have to regularly add a fresh portion of balls;
The presence of synthetic fluff accelerates the settling process. We'll have to add it too;
The filler does not like overheating. Do not place chair cushions near radiators, electric fireplaces or other sources of increased heat generation. This way you will also avoid the risk of fire. Although, this applies more to covers. The filler itself will only melt and release a sharp, unpleasant odor;
Does not cause allergies. Also, pathogenic microorganisms do not grow in it, it is not susceptible to rotting or the appearance of mold;
Does not attract rodents and similar pests.

How to make a soft seat from yarn
