Characteristics of different shades of pink
Each shade of pink has its own characteristics:
- Bright pink color helps every woman feel younger and more carefree. This serves as a kind of therapy for stress and psychological stress.
- Saturated crimson and purple provide a person with energy, increasing the heart rate, so it is not recommended to use these colors for bedrooms.
- A soft light pink shade reduces aggression and calms.
- The color pink stimulates the appetite, causing associations with berry mousses, creams and other delicious desserts. Some prefer to decorate the kitchen in pink, but knowing this property, it is better not to use it in the kitchen for those who have problems with excess weight.
- The shift of the pink shade towards purple may be considered by some as light purple, and by others as pink, which can be used when choosing an interior.
From the point of view of the stronger half of humanity, not everyone can determine why he likes this or that woman surrounded by pink, but this is due to the fact that pink makes a woman more defenseless, gentler, weaker, which encourages a man to rush to her protection.
Pink color in the interior is conquering more and more heights. So, quite recently the color of the year became the color of honeysuckle, when all interior designers began to recommend using it as interior decoration.
As for the style that is predominant for using pink, it is used in modern, high-tech, and vintage styles.
Kitchen interior elements done in pink
The pink kitchen effect can be achieved in different ways.
Kitchen furniture interior in pink color
The most daring option is a kitchen set in these colors. With a thoughtful approach to choosing the shades of facades, taking into account their compatibility with the color schemes of other interior elements, the wait can be completely justified.
What does the modern furniture industry offer?
- Completely monochromatic headsets. These are options when all facades are made in the same color scheme.
- Mixed color of facades. A combination of pink with white, gray, black and their tint variations.
- A combination of pink fronts with a contrasting or white work surface. This solution allows you to “dilute” the dominant tone and make the set more impressive.
Aprons
The use of aprons expands the versatility of kitchen design. The advice from experts here is very diverse. A solid pink apron in the kitchen may be your choice. Or, on the contrary, a bright enchanting color accent of this element will add variety to the design of the room.
When choosing a kitchen apron, a sense of proportion and subtle taste are extremely important, so that instead of a harmonious combination you do not get the opposite effect - bad taste.
Upholstered furniture, dining tables
Expanding the possibilities of creating a kitchen in pink colors is the complete set of upholstered furniture and dining tables. The fabric upholstery of chairs and sofas can match tone-on-tone with the fronts of kitchen cabinets or, on the contrary, contrast with them.
The apron can be lighter than the main tone
Interesting wall solutions for a pink kitchen
You can get the effect of a rose-colored kitchen not only through furniture fronts. It is enough to give this delicate shade to the walls so that the interior acquires the right mood.
Monochromatic pink walls in the kitchen go perfectly with the pastel colors of the furniture facades. In this case, it is possible to achieve rare, but nevertheless harmonious variations. An example of such designs are interiors in the Provence style.
The most classic combination is considered to be the soft pink color of the walls and the white tone of the headset. This solution is typical for “shabby” kitchens.
Pink wallpaper on the kitchen wall surfaces will also add style. Here the range of solutions due to different textures and patterns of the material is much greater.
Wallpaper in the color discussed softens the metal in the kitchen
Appliances
The visual perception of the kitchen in the pink variation will improve if you use all household appliances in this color. Refrigerator, stove, mixers, microwave ovens, toasters, purchased strictly in the same shade range, create an unexpected and interesting design solution for a pink kitchen.
Standing out noticeably against the background of a white or gray furniture set, they look unusual and very stylish
Tabletops
A serious approach should also be taken to the choice of countertops. It makes sense to select its color, taking into account the already present shades of the furniture installed in the kitchen.
Curtains
An additional accent can be a thoughtfully designed window opening. Light snow-white or pink tulle is appropriate here. Or heavier curtains with original tiebacks, in harmony with the overall color scheme of the room.
Pink color in different rooms of the apartment
It can be used to decorate almost any room. This can often be achieved with pink furniture. Pink furniture can be represented by velor, velvet-textured pieces of upholstered furniture: sofa, bed, sofa. However, if this is, for example, a living room, then you need to use muted tones, since there are guests in this room, and this color may irritate them.
The interior must be designed in such a way that by replacing individual elements it is possible to change the accents in the apartment. For example, by changing the curtains from pink to a color that matches other colors in the room, the interior becomes more delicate.
Bright pink color is more suitable for a children's room, but in others you should pay attention to other colors. You can consult with designers on this issue; this will help you choose the most appropriate shade for a particular room.
For children, nurseries in pink bring great joy. Pink is especially suitable in the interior for girls. However, it should be understood that children are designed in such a way that they quickly lose interest. Therefore, today the child likes one thing, tomorrow another. Therefore, you need to choose unobtrusive interior colors that can be adjusted by changing the surrounding details. For example, by hanging wallpaper with a pattern, you can use curtains and bedspreads of different colors, and in this case you can change the appearance of the room.
A child is more excitable than an adult, so you should avoid too bright pink color (it has a stimulating effect on the nervous system).
Pink color is also suitable for the bedroom interior, because pink is the color of tenderness, love and passion. Bedroom furniture can be pink, but mainly if the ceiling, wallpaper and floor are pastel colors. In this case, for example, a suspended ceiling of different levels, in which a cream color is used, in combination with pink furniture will also seem brighter.
If the wallpaper in the room is pink, then golden-colored furniture will do. Lighting in the bedroom is of considerable importance. To tone down the brightness of the tone, you can use light at different levels. A pendant lamp on the ceiling, a bedside floor lamp or a lamp are suitable for this.
However, if this is a matrimonial bedroom, you should still consult with your husband before planning the room. From a man's point of view, pink is a feminine color and most men look down on it.
If you don’t have the courage to realize a pink dream from childhood, then you can make it come true at least in the bathroom. As a rule, there is not much space in it, but the use of a snow-white bathtub, sink, spotlights on the ceiling and tiles, which can have different shades, creates the mood. Since tiles today are amazing in variety, it is possible to choose exactly the shade that you like most.
Combination of pink and other colors
It is often common to think that only black and white colors go well with any color. As fashion has shown, pink, when combined skillfully and without fear of combining colors, can work wonders.
- Thus, the combination of honeysuckle color and white gives airiness and lightness, like a summer or spring morning.
- The seemingly unexpected combination of honeysuckle with the color of fresh greenery has become the second most popular among designers and users. Although other shades of green are quite suitable for combination with pink.
- Pink and orange colors are somewhat reminiscent of the East, but in practice they are also a very successful combination.
- The combination of pink and blue seems ridiculous, but in fact this design is becoming more and more popular in the children's room. Pink color can soften the cold and overly serious blue color. If one of the colors predominates and is brighter, then there should be more of it. If the tones are light and unobtrusive, then they can be performed in equal proportions.
- Pink can also be combined with adjacent shades. For example, the combination of red (burgundy) and pink looks rich and beautiful. The best effect can be achieved if you use pink wallpaper and burgundy furniture, as well as additional accessories of a darker color.
- In the interior of the living room and bedroom, a combination of brown and pink is often used. Cocoa brown is best suited for this duo. This combination will give coziness and at the same time tenderness to the room.
Because of its delicacy, pink color is often used when decorating a girl’s nursery, and its predominance is most appropriate in such rooms.
Using color combinations in the interior
It was already indicated above which combinations with pink are considered the most successful, but what should be pink and what should be another color.
There is a fine line between flamboyance and vulgarity. By going too far with pink, you can make the room seem cloying and artificial. After all, the interior is not only the color of furniture or wallpaper. This also includes the ceiling, floor, decorative wall decorations, and curtains.
So, using pink you can create a bright spot of color that will look amazing in the room. Pink curtains, for example, can be combined with a pink carpet. If pink is chosen as the main color of the wallpaper, then there is no need to overdo it and make everything else pink. This will be enough to give the room the desired accent. The doors, floor and ceiling need to be made in a light shade, and this will be enough.
Bright pink color goes well with dark wood, which can be useful for a room that has wooden furniture: a bed, a chest of drawers, a wardrobe, a nightstand. In this case, dark doors are also suitable. However, the number of different tones in such a room should be limited. This means that all wooden furniture should be the same dark shade.
Pink looks expensive and representative in combination with gray. However, you need to be prepared for the fact that this combination looks cold, and even bright pink does not save the situation.
The combination of pink and black, although it looks impressive, is annoying, annoying and tiring. Therefore, this combination is not suitable for everyone.
Kitchen "Rose" in the interior
“Rose” will help complement the interior in a classic style. With the right selection of accessories and color scheme for the room, this set is also suitable for the English style. It looks equally good with both light and dark shades.
The set is suitable for installation in rooms of any size, but it looks most advantageous in spacious rooms. You should be very careful when installing a Rose kitchen in a small room. There should be enough natural light in the room so that the furniture does not visually reduce the space.
When decorating the interior, before installing the Rose kitchen, preference should be given to light shades. Of course, you can use dark colors, but only in combination with other colors. You can visually brighten the kitchen facades with the help of light wallpaper. The most suitable shades are yellow, light green, and beige. It is better not to use pure white. White wallpaper must have a pattern.
In addition to wallpaper, you can use paint, textured plaster and wood panels to decorate walls. The latter option will emphasize the naturalness of the interior, but the panels cannot be used everywhere; they must be combined with other materials and textures.
Pink color in the kitchen
There are no barriers to bringing pink into your kitchen interior. These could be pink facades of the kitchen unit, you can make a pink kitchen apron, but the surroundings should be in light colors, although you can additionally add pink elements on the kitchen facades or pink chairs. Numerous pink little things won’t look ridiculous either: household appliances, pink curtains, kitchen utensils. A tablecloth and pink curtains can do the trick, bringing brightness and joy into it.
From the point of view of color therapy, pink color for the kitchen increases appetite and improves blood supply to tissues and organs.
Pink wallpaper in the kitchen can look elegant and beautiful because pink is not only a flashy bright glossy color, it also comes in many shades, from the most delicate to the deepest dark pink shade. As a rule, wallpaper is not a single color, but a combination of stripes, patterns, and ornaments, so depending on the surrounding interior, you can find the right combination. Moreover, in addition to the wallpaper, you can make several bright accents, for example, pink curtains for the kitchen will look good.
When choosing the color of the kitchen, they focus on the side; a pink kitchen is suitable for the north and south sides. In addition, it is suitable for both large and small spaces. Moreover, it is not at all necessary that the kitchen should be plain pink. Today it is becoming popular to use a combination of several colors, for example, when the lower cabinets have one color and the upper cabinets another.
When choosing wallpaper for a pink kitchen, you need to be guided by the fact that knowing what colors pink goes with, you can decorate pink either as the main tone or as accessories. Wallpaper for a pink kitchen should be any other color that pink goes with.
Pink kitchen style
As for the pink kitchen style , a predominantly modern approach is used here. Clear and straight lines, glass and metal – these are the details that can make a kitchen spectacular and irresistible. By the way, among the additional elements in the kitchen, it would be quite appropriate to use a bar counter and high chairs. For a small kitchen there is an even more practical option - a mini bar or cocktail stand. Despite its simplicity, it can become a completely functional part of the kitchen, replacing the dining table and becoming a cozy place for conversation and relaxation. You can also install a hanging bar with sections for bottles, glasses or wine glasses, or use a stand for fruit bowls. For a pink kitchen, it is better to use a countertop in cool or light shades. And if you equip it with additional lighting, it will become even more spacious and cozy!

How to choose curtains for the kitchen
Curtains for a pink kitchen can serve as an additional accessory that emphasizes the pink interior, or, on the contrary, can dilute the pink color.
Today you can use both tulle and pink curtains. Today there is no problem in choosing curtains: they can be plain or consist of several tones, single-layer or double-layer.
It was already mentioned above that the color pink helps awaken the appetite. If you need to suppress your appetite, but want to use pink curtains, then you need to use curtains that combine pink and gray.
In order to use the color pink in the interior, you need to focus on your own feelings. Sometimes it happens that when talking with a designer, he recommends using it during the renovation process. However, if it does not initially attract the customer, it is better not to experiment with it and pay attention to ultra-pink colors, that is, close to purple. If shades of pink are used correctly, it will give the apartment coziness and tenderness, which is so often lacking in modern interiors.
Kitchen: “roses in champagne” and a well-designed kitchen set
Yulia's story from Minsk:
— I called my project “Roses in Champagne”, because in the kitchen you are surrounded by roses, rosettes and flowers that resemble roses. The color of the kitchen facades resembles the color of champagne, and the monograms on the handles resemble bubbles of the drink.
I live in a typical three-room “Mapida” apartment with a kitchen area of 10.5 m2 with two entrances (one from the living room, the other from the corridor). Before the renovation, the kitchen was L-shaped, unremarkable and very uncomfortable. I always wanted to do something to my liking, according to my feelings. That’s why I decided not to resort to the services of designers and make the kitchen that I dream about and feel.
The first solution is to move the sink, install it opposite the window, close the entrance to the kitchen from the hallway and shift the entrance opening to the kitchen from the living room. I’ll say right away that I formalized the redevelopment and, as it turned out, it’s not as difficult as many people think.
On the first day of summer, a team of builders began dismantling the old furniture and decoration in the kitchen (we spent about $100). They cut out and partially sealed the opening from the living room side and completely closed the entrance from the hallway (about $100).
Three days later, the dismantling was completed and work on plumbing and electrical could begin. By the beginning of this work, it was necessary to have a clear idea of what and where it would be in the kitchen, where and how the kitchen drawers would be located.
Since I wanted to make the kitchen not only beautiful, but also very functional and comfortable, I had to study the computer program myself and draw each drawer. Unfortunately, often kitchen designers working in various furniture manufacturing studios draw typical and inconvenient kitchens. And, most importantly, their work is streamlined, and such projects lack individuality and life. The kitchen should live in bright colors along with its owner.
After I thought through and drew the project, I began price research. After visiting a number of studios, I realized that the prices were extremely inflated. I decided to act differently. Friends recommended a good private designer, who helped us not make mistakes with the dimensions, and a furniture assembler. The cost of my kitchen after calculations was reduced by half (the final cost of the furniture was 6 thousand 500 dollars).
Let's start with the plumbing. Since the sink in the new project was to be located opposite the window - on the opposite side from its original location, it was necessary to lay and extend the sewer and water pipes (about $500). We installed a Zorg waste disposer ($70) under the sink, as well as a Grundfos pump to prevent clogs ($100).
Since a huge number of electrical appliances are always running in the kitchen, additional electrical wires were laid. I thought in advance where and what would be turned on, and with the electrician we distributed the appropriate load to each outlet.
They laid a “warm” floor and made a screed (electrical work and materials cost about $700).
All walls were leveled and set at 90 degrees for easy installation of kitchen furniture ($200).
For the kitchen backsplash I chose Polish tiles from Paradize with a bright pattern. White floor tiles from the same collection ($400) were installed on the floor. The wall that didn't have tiles was covered with washable wallpaper made in Italy ($50). A large mirror was hung on one of the walls to visually expand the space ($200).
We installed a glossy stretch ceiling and installed LED spotlights ($200).
When the room was completely ready, the installation of kitchen furniture began. For the facades, the set chose painted MDF with a golden patina, ordered from the Papa Carlo chain of salons. The upper facades of the kitchen are made up to the ceiling with frosted glass inserts.
The bottom of the set consists of convenient drawers, cargo with a diameter of 300 mm, a corner pull-out mechanism, and a Bosh dishwasher. All mechanisms are from the Polish company Amex ($400).
The countertop is made of composite quartz in white diamond color ($2 thousand). Sink - Blanco white, bottom mounted ($300), vintage faucet - Zorg ($120) gold color.
Installed a Whirlpool induction cooktop ($300). Above the hob is a powerful hidden Zorg hood ($200). Instead of an oven, a Whirlpool microwave with convection and grill functions ($300) was installed.
The Atlant refrigerator, 70 cm wide, was installed on a small podium. Under the refrigerator there is a pull-out shelf for feeding a pet.
Instead of the usual table, we made a 70x120 cm console.
Near the wall with the mirror, they made a seating area in the form of drawers, on which they sewed pillows ($50). These seats can accommodate three adults. Covers were sewn for the bar stools.
On one side of the console there is a footrest, on the other - the cargo extends 50 cm. There is one more drawer on each side.
The interior was complemented with artificial and natural flowers in pots and vases.
For comfort, there is a carpet on the floor, the design of which resembles monograms on the handles of the facades.
The windows are decorated with floral print roller blinds ($100). The window slopes are made of mirrors, which expands the space and makes the walls around the window airy and light ($100).
The kitchen has a huge number of drawers and storage systems; a cozy area for eating and relaxing has been created. The kitchen is filled with different types of lighting; Modern household appliances have been installed.
The approximate cost of the project including work, furniture and appliances is about 14 thousand dollars.
