Due to the correct and neat design of surfaces, the interior of the toilet acquires not only a neat, but also a more thoughtful appearance. Wood cladding is a practical solution, easy to maintain and allows you to give the environment homeliness, comfort and at the same time elegance and respectability.

The photo shows the interior of the bathroom, decorated with wall and floor tiles with imitation wood.

Also, using tile material, you can visually adjust the dimensions of a small and narrow toilet, for example, use floor finishing with a diagonal layout or use rectangular wall tiles laid in a horizontal or vertical direction.

Color spectrum

Before starting finishing work, you must definitely decide on the style in which the room will be decorated. If you have a small bathtub, it is better to choose tiles in light colors. This will visually expand the room. For such a room, it is better not to choose tiles with clear lines, because they make the room smaller. Tiles with a matte surface will look very beautiful.

It does not require special care and is non-slip, which is very important for a bathroom floor. It is worth knowing that if there are several tile options in the bathroom, then you should not make a sharp transition between them.

Wood finishes are best suited to Provence style decoration. Here the main attributes are considered to be natural materials. This style is imbued with freshness and comfort. It is dominated by pastel colors. A bathroom in this style will definitely appeal to romantic people and young couples, as well as, of course, to those who appreciate natural beauty and simplicity of design.

For the Art Nouveau style, which is loved by many, gray shades are suitable, but for the classic style - mahogany or plastic coated with the same color. These two stylistic trends are similar to each other. Such rooms can be supplemented with details, but the main thing is not to overdo it. You can safely decorate your bathroom in Scandinavian style. Such a bathroom will be bright and very beautiful. You can complement a room decorated with light wood panels, natural stone inserts and light plumbing fixtures.

Peculiarities

Wood-look bathroom finishing materials are highly wear-resistant (PEI categories 3-5).
The surfaces of the plates are treated with moisture-resistant compounds. Bathroom and shower blocks are made hypoallergenic. They are resistant to chemical compounds, fungus, mold, and mechanical damage. The water absorption parameter of materials should not exceed 5%. Porcelain stoneware and ceramic tiles are popular.

Solid porcelain stoneware blocks are strong, wear-resistant, and durable. The material consists of natural components (clay, quartz, metal oxides, dyes). During production, raw materials are subjected to pressing and heat treatment. The material is highly expensive.

Finishing from porcelain tiles is optimal for public saunas and showers at sports complexes.

Wood-look ceramics are made from clay, quartz sand, stabilizers, and coloring pigments. The density and wear resistance of the plates is imparted by the pressing procedure. The blocks can withstand mechanical loads, temperature changes, and have a low degree of water absorption.

The finish is recommended for residential premises, is easy to install, and is easy to clean.

The surfaces of the products are smooth or textured.

They produce materials for finishing floors and walls.

Floor blocks must be abrasion resistant, with a safe outer layer. Wood finish allows you to reproduce parquet laying and plank flooring.

Wall decoration is light, decorative, in the form of squares and rectangles. For vertical surfaces in the bathroom, ready-made mosaic layouts on mesh or rubber sheets can be used.

Which tile is better to choose for the bathroom?

Several types of tile finishes:

  • Ceramic (tile). In its production, natural materials are used, such as clay and sand with the addition of special components that improve the structure. There are unglazed and glazed tiles, which have a longer service life, durability, resistance to ultraviolet radiation and temperature changes.
  • Porcelain tiles. It can perfectly imitate any type of wood and is quite durable and resistant to low temperatures. The composition of porcelain stoneware includes white clay and sand with natural dyes.
  • Quartz vinyl. The main component of such facing tiles is quartz sand with the addition of various impurities. The tile has a certain flexibility and a high degree of comfort, as it is quite warm.

Prestige and modern fashion

Not only in private houses, but also in apartments, the bathroom is increasingly designed in the style of a bathhouse. Its walls and ceiling are covered with clapboard, the mirrors are decorated with wooden frames, and wooden shelves are used to place bathing accessories.

The fashion for finishing a bathroom with wood is not only a tribute to tradition: this material does not create excess humidity in the room, it is pleasant to the touch and has a special smell. An additional advantage is the low thermal conductivity of wood, which ensures that the optimum temperature is maintained.

The cost of finishing a bathroom with wood is even lower than when using tiles. At the same time, the interior looks stylish and original, so the investment is completely justified. A variety of wood shades allows you to find exquisite solutions for rooms of any size. Light wood will visually expand small rooms, while dark wood will create a feeling of solidity and aristocracy.

In a “wooden” bathroom it is very pleasant to take a contrast shower in the morning and soak in hot water with aromatic oils. It quickly becomes a favorite place for relaxation for all family members and pleasantly surprises guests.

Wood is a universal material

The benefit of wood as a material for finishing is, first of all, the fact that it is a universal material. It can be used in any room, regardless of the style in which it was conceived. Also today there is a wide selection of wood processing products, the use of which guarantees the protection of the wooden surface from abrasion or moisture.

In fact, undeservedly neglected wood will look very elegant in any interior. This is another reason why you shouldn’t cross it out right away when planning your bathroom decoration. Along with finishing the bathroom ceiling and walls with wood, you can also install wooden furniture in the bathroom, which will look very harmonious.

What's good about white tiles?

There are a lot of advantages. The strongest ones were chosen.

  1. Pairs with anything. Loyal to any color of grout and to a wide variety of companions: paint, plaster, microcement, wallpaper, wood and other materials.
  2. Suitable for bathrooms in any style - from minimalism to art deco and classics.
  3. Without getting dirty (no matter how strange it may sound). Soap stains, lime water, particles of dust and washing powder and other dirt in the bathroom in general are always grayish white in color. On light surfaces all this will be much less noticeable than on dark ones.
  4. Adds light and air. And in the bathroom, where there are not so often windows and daylight, white is a saving breath of air for those who feel comfortable only in bright interiors.
